A short history of the Faith Promise and Bible Ministry of Talking Rock Road Baptist Church
By Pastor Delbert Davis
For years, Talking Rock Road Baptist Church trrbc.jpg(TRRBC), a small country church in Branson West, Missouri, has been actively involved in missions. In 1999, TRRBC began Faith Promise*, an offering for missions.
At first, we supported six missionaries. In 2000, we added three more missionaries, and in 2001, we had our first bible project with Bro. Larry Stallings. We assembled 10,000 Spanish John and Romans (J/R). Then, in the summer of 2001, we went on a mission’s trip to Mexico. While in Mexico, we passed out 10,000 J/R that we assembled in our church. Several families went on this trip to the state of Zacatecas, Mexico. Of the eight families, three of those families are on the mission field, today: Steve and Amber Benedict are in Jerez, Mexico, the Stanley family are in Oaxaca, Mexico, and Daniel and Chrissy Winslow are in Nepal.
We continued doing bible projects during 2002 and 2003, and in 2004, we purchased cutting machines, staplers, etc. and added a bible room onto our church building. God continued to bless TRRBC’s missions and bible ministry. In 2006, we purchased a stitcher and additional bible machinery.
Then in 2009, Midwest Seedline was born with the desire to take the bible ministry to other like-minded churches. That year, Miles and Joanna Wallis and Rich and Janet Warren felt the call to this ministry. TRRBC continued to purchase other equipment such as a forklift, bible trailers, put up a bible barn, etc.
That same year, Midwest Seedline had 12 meetings and produced over 200,000 J/R. TRRBC has been privileged to ship 2 sea containers, (250,000 J/R), to Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, 300,000 J/R to Cape Verde, Africa, and approx. 10 crates to Panama, Spain, Haiti, Dominican Republic, and Mexico. TRRBC currently supports 55 missionaries and has assembled, along with Midwest Seedline, approx. 3,000,000 J/R.
In 2013, TRRBC purchased a glue binder to produce new testaments and whole bibles. Only God knows what these scriptures will produce. What we do know is His word comes with a built-in promise.
(Isaiah 55:11) “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
*Faith promise is trusting God to support missions over and above your tithes.
